Women played a key role to spread this new faith of religion. They preached and baptized men women and children in their community. In the year 203 AD, Perpetua, woman of Canthuge refused to relinquish their faith and due to this brave act she was condemned her to death, her life was ended by a sword! Also Thecle, one of the Saint-Paul disciples, refused to get married (which unthinkable then). Her story became the base of the Catholic theology of the chastity and virginity. Sadly, Thecle was forgot with time, after all she could have become a great inspiration for those whose who campaigned for women’s right to become priest.
